Under the IRP clause of the USW-USS Labor Agreement, because the CPI-W 291.629 was 2.18% higher than the threshold [(291.629 -285.409)/ 285.409) =2.179%], all USW-represented U.S. Steel employees will receive a 2% IRP bonus payment based on their total earnings in the two months of July and August of 2022. The individual IRP payments are based on employee earnings and actual hours worked during the calendar quarter, including incentive earning and overtime.
The average IRP Payment for this partial period should be about $225 per employee.
This IRP payment is due by October 15, 2022 and will probably not be combined with the third quarter profit sharing payment.

We started contract negotiations yesterday in Pittsburgh, and for those of you who have not been through a round of negotiations before here are some things to know.
1. The company will use the X-App/email/robocalls to spread the messages they want you to hear.
2. Some managers may try to sway our members into believing that what the company is proposing is in your best interest.
3. The best line of communication on the factual information will be from the Union.
4. Everyone should sign up to receive text updates from the International by texting USS to 47486.
In Solidarity,
Your Local 1938 bargaining committee.
